A catch-all email mailbox is one that captures all the emails sent to invalid addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and in this way you will never miss emails because the other side has an obsolete address or has made a typographical error. The downside of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of unsolicited emails, but this issue can be resolved using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also crucial to keep in mind that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot redirect incoming emails to a third-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Web Hosting

If you host a domain on our cloud platform and you have a shared web hosting account, you will be able to activate the catch-all functionality for any mailbox that you set up under the domain. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel offers quite a lot of features, but it is remarkably user-friendly, so setting up a catch-all mailbox takes only a single click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you’ve set up will be listed in this section in alphabetical order and you will only have to click the "Catch-all" button pertaining to the specific address. Our system will warn you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or pick a different mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all option is just as easy and requires yet another mouse click on the same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

A catch-all address can be created with a couple of mouse clicks in case you have a Linux semi-dedicated package with us. The hosting account will be managed via our custom-developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you will be able to create email addresses using any domain registered here. To activate the catch-all functionality for a particular mailbox, you’ll need to click the button with the same name, which will be on the right-hand side of each mailbox. Deactivating this feature can be done in the very same fashion and will not take more than a click either. If a catch-all mailbox has already been enabled for a certain domain name, you’ll get a warning text message. The same is valid if the mailbox that you’d like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never edit or disable anything automatically.
