Dot NAME Domains

Established in 2001, the Dot NAME domain extension is the only one meant for personal websites only. These domain names can include personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other titles people are famous by. At the beginning, only 3rd-level registrations were allowed, so if you desired to buy john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already acquired third-level domains remained running.

Through our firm, you can purchase your .NAME domain for a period between 1 and 10 years. You will have the chance to modify the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our company if you have its EPP transfer code from the present domain provider and we will renew it once the transfer has been finalized. There are no particular conditions on who can grab a .NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the concept behind its establishment alive, the Registry may check who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration can be challenged.

The dot NAME top-level extension is amongst the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no extra cost. In this way, your dot NAME domain will be recognized in your country or area with the exact spelling in your native language.
